Distribution
Nordatlantik, Ostsee An der Ostküste Nordamerikas weit verbreitet, außerdem ein verschlepptes Vorkommen an der Westküste der USA. In Europa ehemals in den Flüssen Nordfrankreichs und Mitteleuropas sowie in der Nord- und Ostsee. Bis auf ein Restvorkommen in der Oder und westlichen Ostsee überall in Europa ausgestorben.
